Your love story beautifully told through gorgeous still imagery for generations to come—we’re Jeff and Michele and that’s our mission as husband and wife wedding photographers in Lexington, Ky.
A large tear rolled down Jonathan’s smiling face — the love of his life was walking down the aisle, not only as his lover, but as his bride. The joy on both of their faces pressed upon their hearts with such pressure that, even in the bright outdoor sun, their smiles shown like lights in a starry sky.
As we photographed this moment, it was so clear to us why we do what we do— love is not only worth it, it’s an inspiring story full of life, meaning, and excitement like none other. And being able to create meaningful photograph for our couples is the chance to live it over and over again.
But we haven’t always been photographers—first we experienced getting married and joining our lives together in love.
Photogaphy didn’t step into our lives until 2014, when Michele’s grandfather passed away; she wanted “nice camera” to savor life’s happy days. I (Jeff), didn’t know it at the time, but I would soon become enraptured in the science and mechanics of photography once that camera would arrive.
And soon after we received the “nice camera”, I had a premonition, “what if we got really good at taking pictures and used our gifts to serve couples getting married?” And so, I proposed the idea to Michele who, with full trust and willingness to follow me into any stage of life stated, “Absolutely not.”
It’s oft said that the husband never wins an argument, so I’ll let you figure out how that went.
In March 2015, we began our photography business and in 2017 we were full-time serving couples. Today, we continue photographer genuinely loving couples while also educating photographers with an online program, blog, and podcasts.
As wedding photographers in Lexington Kentucky, seeing genuine couples pledge themselves in love to one another in celebration is an absolutely enthralling experience.
It’s the small glance with the tipped up smile during the ceremony, the kiss on the brides cheek as her father hands her away; it’s the mother’s silent, yet ringing fulfillment as tears roll down her face, knowing that her son has found the love of his life.
It’s grandma’s lighthearted giggle as she remembers her youth, and grandfather’s approval and delight in legacy.
It’s belly laughs during champagne toasts, and speeches sincere, sometimes comical.
It’s a whole room quietly breaking into tears as dad dances with his daughter, knowing she’s all grown up, but not too grown up to cry on his shoulder.
This is why we do what we do. And if we’re destined to be the photographers that document your story, we look forward to being reminded by you of why love is worth it all.
Here’s to your future,
-Jeff & Michele
