Since we’ve begin making online courses and more videos in general, we took a long, hard look at the best teleprompters available for under $500. Teleprompters can get expensive, but if you’re not needing anything too fancy, a number of great options have popped up over the recent years!
As a tip, if you’re planning on using your prompter fairly close to the camera, you may want to stick with a cell-phone as your device vs a tablet. The reason is this: if your reading area is too large for how close it is, you’ll be able to see your eyes going back-and-forth.
Keep that in mind when looking at these prompters.

Parrot Teleprompter 2 - Best Travel Friendly Prompter
The Parrot is great for a small, lightweight, highly portable teleprompter. The hood containing the glass mounts via an adapter that screws into your lens filter thread. Simple enough!
The Parrot is at the time of writing $99 on Amazon.
Glide Gear TP 75 - Highest Quality Compact Prompter
This is a really cool little prompter! It’s compact, though not as small as the Parrot. Also noteworthy, it mounts to a tripod like some of the larger teleprompters. It can also mount directly to your laptop, which might be nice for someone using a webcam.
It also comes with a carrying-case, making this guy a great option for those looking for great build with excellent portability!
The TP75 is at the time of writing $179 on Amazon.

Caddie Buddy 70/30 Teleprompter - Cheapest High Quality Prompter
The Caddie Buddy is a sturdy, very basic teleprompter. As far as a full-size prompter, it’s about as cheap as you can go while still having excellent reviews!
The Caddie Buddy isn’t fancy—but it gets the job done!
The Caddie Buddy is at the time of writing $164.95 on Amazon.
Glide Gear TMP100 Teleprompter - Best Value Prompter
The TMP100 looks sleek and is a great value. It also includes a travel bag, which is a nice touch! If you’re looking for a nice balance of quality and price-point in a full-size pad prompter, the TMP100 is the way to go!
The Glide Gear TMP100 is at the time of writing $198 on Amazon.
OneTakeOnly Pad Prompter - Highest Quality Prompter (with Drawbacks)
The OneTakeOnly is the nicest looking out of all the full-size pad prompters on our list. It has excellent reviews (mostly on B&H). The biggest drawback to this prompter is that it does NOT have a built in mount for your camera to sit on.
So, you’ll have to either use your tripod for your camera and then mount the OneTakeOnly on a lightstand, or some other set-up, like attaching it to a 15mm rig like this one.
Also worth noting, the OneTakeOnly comes with a 6-month warranty.
The OneTakeOnly is at the time of writing $375 on Amazon.
